UK Sales Manager

Due to business growth we are looking to recruit a UK Sales Manager to head up the external Sales team in HARTING Ltd.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role is a member of the UK Sales Management Team and will be responsible for the management and development of the team of Market Managers, Regional Sales Managers and the Electronic Business Development Manager. The role will include:

  • Overall Sales Management for the UK and Ireland.
  • Meeting/exceeding total sales targets, sales of new products and development of new customers.
  • Ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded for all forecasted divisions.
  • Maintaining focus on agreed target market/industry segments.
  • Involvement in Market Price Policy.
  • Effective use of Market/Industry Distribution channels.
  • Close liaison with the Customer Service Manager to ensure optimal cooperation between External and Internal Sales resources.
  • Ensuring Sales leads are followed up in a timely manner and feedback is given to the Marketing Department.
  • Ensuring the team follow the ‘Opportunity Management’ process ensuring that all details are recorded within CRM Dynamics.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating department policies and procedures.
  • Producing timely and materially concise business reports.
  • Working closely with the Sales Team to identify Key Accounts offering the most potential and agreeing a strategy to develop them.
  • Construction and submission of Latest Estimate Sales and Forecasts and ensuring they are carried out in a timely manner and are well researched.
  • Formal presentation of LE preparation to UK Directors for approval.
  • Providing clear direction to the Department in pursuit of agreed forecasts.
  • Management of department within previously agreed budget parameters including operating expenditure, salaries, MbO schemes etc.

The successful candidate will have considerable relevant industry experience and a background in Sales and Market Management. Candidates should also have experience of people management. It is likely that the successful candidate will have developed a range of senior contacts within the industry and will have a good understanding of UK markets.

Ideally candidates will have a Business related university degree qualification and/or a professional qualification in Electronics/Electro-Mechanical/Electrical discipline.

The role can be based anywhere in the UK but there will be a significant amount of travel within the UK to meet with the Sales Team/Customers and also regular travel to the Northampton office.
