High Service Level Distributor Manager

We are looking to appoint a High Service Level Distributor Manager to work within our busy Sales Team.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Market Development the role will be responsible for the management of our two key Distributors, RS Components and Farnell. The role will include:

  • Responsibility for the strong development of the relationship with the two Distributors which will require regular face-to-face meetings and reviews (inc. regular travel to Leeds and Corby).
  • Ensuring that HARTING has the strongest possible offer with both partners, constantly reviewing the content to ensure that it is applicable, correct and up to date to give the best end customer experience.
  • Managing the introduction of HARTING NPI through this key channel ensuring all information and processes are completed in time to ensure a successful launch.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Department, creating an annual marketing campaign to ensure the strongest promotion of the HARTING brand, our existing products and NPI.
  • Producing reports for UK and German Management as required.
  • Analysing POS data to monitor Distributor sales activity to ensure that all opportunities are maximised. This will include reporting on activity and findings/outcomes to Senior Management at both a corporate and subsidiary level.
  • Managing the pricing policy with RS Components and Farnell.
  • Monitoring the inventory held by the two key Distributors and making recommendations to ensure that high service levels are maintained.
  • Planning and organising Quarterly Operational Meetings and the Annual Strategic Meeting.
  • Establishing a forecast (in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Market Development) for RS Components and Farnell that is in line with, or exceeds, the Mid Term compound growth expectation for HARTING.
  • Ensuring the CRM Dynamics area of responsibility is fully maintained at all times.

To be successful in this role you will be a strong negotiator with the ability to communicate at all levels (internally and externally). You must be a strong relationship builder and also have a good understanding of a range of marketing tools and digitalisation.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of managing distribution in a connector or related market environment and have experience of managing and developing long-term relationships with key partners. The ability to use Microsoft Dynamics would be beneficial by is not essential as training will be given.
